چکیده
Geninthiocin was isolated from the mycelium of Streptomyces sp. DD84 as a tipA promoter inducing substance. Based on various NMR studies, its structure was established as a thiopeptide with oxazole and thiazole moieties, and several unusual amino acids.

Broad spectrum thiopeptide recognition specificity of the Streptomyces lividans TipAL protein and its role in regulating gene expression.
Microbial metabolites isolated in screening programs for their ability to activate transcription of the tipA promoter (ptipA) in Streptomyces lividans define a class of cyclic thiopeptide antibiotics having dehydroalanine side chains ("tails"). Here we show that such compounds of heterogeneous primary structure (representatives tested: thiostrepton, nosiheptide, berninamycin, promothiocin) are ...

tipA gene which encodes one of these proteins was cloned and sequenced2). The tipA promoter (ptipA) was inserted in a promoter probe vector (pIJ486) so that it controlled the expression of a kanamycin resistance gene (pAK114). Although S. lividans (pAKl 14) was sensitive to kanamycin in the absence of thiostrepton, it became highly resistant to the antibiotic in the presence of very small amoun...
متن کاملAntioxidant and cytotoxic activities of metabolites produced by a new marine Streptomyces sp. isolated from the sea cucumber Holothuria leucospilota
Marine microorganisms are important sources for novel natural products. Hence, the aim of this study was to introduce marine microorganisms with the capability of producing antioxidant and cytotoxic metabolites. For this purpose, ten live sea cucumbers (Holothuria leucospilota) were collected from Larak Island, Persian Gulf. Then, their intestine contents were serially diluted and treated by he...
متن کاملRadamycin, a novel thiopeptide produced by streptomyces sp. RSP9. II. Physico-chemical properties and structure determination.
The new cyclic peptide antibiotic, radamycin (1) and the known thiopeptide methylsulfomycin I (2) have been isolated from the fermentation broth of a Streptomyces sp. RSP9. The structure of radamycin was elucidated by NMR, LC-MS and FAB-MS and was established as a thiopeptide with oxazole and thiazole moieties, and several unusual amino acids.
